Ms. Holtz has more than 20 years marketing and public relations experience in New England and California. She specializes in business, trade and broadcast media and has worked with industry analysts and venture capitalists. Recently, she served Analog Devices managing announcements of major integrated circuit (IC) and digital signal processor (DSP) products with telecommunications applications. In addition, she managed launches for inc.com, a destination site for entrepreneurs and small business owners; SwiftTouch, an application services provider for voice and email via wireless Web; and BountyQuest, a "human search engine" of academics, scientists and researchers seeking hard-to-find information for the high-tech and biotech arenas.
Previously, Ms. Holtz worked for Edelman PR Worldwide’s Global Technology Practice in Palo Alto, CA, where she managed product roll-outs, media relations, trade show support, and executive PR programs for clients such as Hayes Microcomputer Products, Kyocera, Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation, and Philips Professional Solutions. In addition, she was closely involved with short-term marketing and PR programs on behalf of Lucent Technologies and Ericsson.
Prior to Edelman, Ms Holtz was with Miller Shandwick PR, where she executed media relations programs for clients such as Mitsubishi Electronics America, Network Computing Inc. (acquired by Seagate Technologies), inquiry.com, and Network Computing Devices. Additional clients include Silicon-Valley based companies such as Intel Corporation, MediaVision, Echelon Corporation, and McAfee Associates.
Ms. Holtz began her communications career at Digital Equipment Corporation managing marketing communications, public relations and marketing programs for the company’s Large Computer, Software Products, and Educational Services groups. During that time, she wrote, edited and published sales force and customer magazines, wrote and produced customer success stories, helped to created A/V presentations, and created a product line PR program to raise awareness for self-paced educational products.
She is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Women in Technology, Inc., Massachusetts Telecommunications Council, the MIT New Enterprise Forum, and is engaged in publicity and fundraising for a number of Boston-area organizations.
Barbara Holtz graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a B.A. in English Literature, from Boston College with a M.A. in Special Education), and holds an M.B.A. in marketing from Northeastern University.
